Division of Finance & Business Services Next Gen Scholarship Program

Scholarship Opportunity

This scholarship will provide assistance to the dependent child of an employee within the Division of Finance and Business Services. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement, school/employment/community service activities.

The scholarship is for $4,000 ($2,000 per fall and spring semester).

Eligibility

To be eligible, a dependent applicant must:

  1. Be a dependent child of a staff member who is employed in the Division of Finance and Business Services, must be a full-time employee, and must be budgeted at least 50% for at least two years prior to the start date of the award period (beginning on July 1).
  2. Be admitted into and enrolled in at least twelve (12) hours at any Texas A&M University System Institution:
    • Texas A&M University
      • Texas A&M University at Galveston
      • Texas A&M Health Science Center
      • Texas A&M University at Qatar
    • Prairie View A&M University
    • Tarleton State University
    • Texas A&M University- Central Texas
    • Texas A&M University- Commerce
    • Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi
    • Texas A&M University- Kingsville
    • Texas A&M University- San Antonio
    • Texas A&M University- Texarkana
    • West Texas A&M University
  3. Be classified as an undergraduate

Applicants must also:

  • Provide evidence of academic achievement and school/employment/community activities. Application packet must include an application, activity profile, personal statement, two letters of reference, and high school or college transcripts (unofficial transcripts are permitted). Incomplete application packets will not be considered.

Guidelines

  • Funds can be used for educational expenses such as tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies, and other related expenses.
  • Texas A&M - Blinn Team dual enrollment is permitted and counts toward minimum required
  • The Scholarship Selection Advisory Committee is comprised of employees from the Division of Finance and Business Committee members may not be the parent of an applicant for the scholarship.

Awarding

  • Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement, school/employment/community service activities.
  • Scholarships will be for one academic year and will provide $2,000 per semester.
  • To receive funds for the spring term, scholarship recipients must maintain a fall full-time status of twelve (12) hours and a fall course grade point average of 2.0 or better and be enrolled in at least twelve (12) hours for the spring term. 
  • Scholarship recipients may re-apply in subsequent years, for a maximum total of four years, as long as he/she maintains satisfactory academic progress (2.5 overall G.P.A.) or above.
