Unauthorized access of an Aggie Bucks account is a criminal offense and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Unauthorized use at vending machines is a third degree felony, punishable by 2 10 years imprisonment and up to a $5,000 fine.
AGGIE BUCKS INITIAL ACCOUNT DISCLOSURES
Electronic fund transfer services permit cardholders and others to transfer funds without the use of cash or checks. Texas A&M provides a way for you to do this with the Aggie Bucks Program. Aggie Bucks are accessed with your valid Student ID Card (Aggie Card) and may be used at a number of locations on and off campus. The Electronic Fund Transfer Act of 1978 (the Act) protects cardholders in their use of Electronic Fund Transfer services. Described herein are important notices regarding your rights under the Act. Please retain this disclosure for your future reference.
I. DISCLOSURE OF CONSUMERS LIABILITY FOR UNAUTHORIZED TRANSFERS
You must notify us AT ONCE if you suspect your Aggie Card has been lost or stolen. If you contact us within two business days, you can lose no more than $50. If you do NOT inform us within the 2 day time frame, you could be held responsible for as much as $500. You are responsible for monitoring your account balance at all times. Balances can be verified after a transaction by reviewing the provided receipt or by viewing the LED read out on a vending machine. You can view your current account balance at anytime with Aggie Bucks Tracker. If you suspect any fraudulent activity, you should contact us immediately. In some cases, the time period for reporting a problem may be extended due to extenuating circumstances.
II. DISCLOSURE OF TELEPHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS TO BE NOTIFIED IN EVENT OF UNAUTHORIZED TRANSFER

III. DISCLOSURE OF WHAT CONSTITUTES BUSINESS DAY OF INSTITUTION
Our operating hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Our office observes most state and federal holidays.
IV. DISCLOSURE OF TYPES OF AVAILABLE TRANSFERS AND LIMITS ON TRANSFERS
Account access - You may use your Aggie Card to (1) Make deposits to your Aggie Bucks account at the Aggie Card Office at the GSC, Suite 2801. (2) Pay for purchases at business that accept Aggie Bucks. Some of these services may not be available at all terminals.
V. DISCLOSURE OF CHARGES FOR TRANSFERS OR RIGHT TO MAKE TRANSFERS
There are no charges for using the Aggie Bucks system. Refunds are available upon request after the last class day of each semester and will be applied as a credit to the student?s University account (refunds will be mailed or sent ACH). Graduating Seniors will automatically be refunded the balance in their account 4 to 8 weeks after graduation. Aggie Bucks accounts which remain inactive for 6 months will be charged a service fee of $3.00/month beginning with the 7th month and continuing through the 11th month or until account activity resumes. If, at the end of an 11-month period of inactivity, there is still $15.00 or more in the account, it will be automatically refunded in full to the cardholder's last known address. If the balance is less than $15.00 it will be placed in an Aggie Bucks Scholarship Fund. The Aggie Card Office reserves the right to charge a fee for the replacement of a lost or stolen ID card.
VI. DISCLOSURE OF UNIVERSITY POLICY ON RETURNED CHECKS
If a check (or e-check) is returned for any reason, Texas A&M will not re-deposit it. You will be assessed a processing fee of no more than $30 and a hold will be placed on your Aggie Bucks Account. It is also possible that your registration will be cancelled and you incure University late penalties. You will be fully responsible for any additional costs actually incurred during reasonable colletion efforts. All repayments must be in the form of cash, a cashier check, or a money order. During the collection process, your access to University records and accounts will be blocked. If you do not clear the full amount, Texas A&M reserves the right to apply all or a portion of your current Aggie Bucks balance to your debt. Any Aggie Bucks related block will be lifted from your student account upon successful completion of the repayment process.
VII. DISCLOSURE OF THE UNIVERSITY'S LIABILITY FOR FAILURE TO MAKE TRANSFERS
If we do not properly complete a transfer to or from your account in accordance with this disclosure, we may be liable for your losses or damages. There are some exceptions to this which may include the following:
- If, through no fault of ours, your account does not contain enough money to complete the transfer.
- If the Aggie Bucks reader was not functioning properly and you were aware of the problem before you started the transfer.
- If circumstances beyond our control prevent the transfer. These circumstances may include, but are not limited to, any of the following events: fire, flood, or other catastrophe, legal acts of public authorities, strikes, riots, failure of communications or power supply or mechanical difficulties with the equipment which could not be reasonably foreseen or provided against.
- If your account has been blocked to prevent unauthorized usage.
- There may be other exceptions.
VIII. DISCLOSURE OF ACCOUNT INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES
We will only disclose information to third parties about your account or the transfers you make:
- Where it is necessary for completing transfers
- In order to verify the existence and condition of your account to a third party, such as a credit bureau or merchant
- In order to comply with government agency or court orders
- To facilitate returned check collection processes.
- If requested by you in writing.
IX. DISCLOSURE OF RIGHT TO RECIEVE DOCUMENTATION OF TRANSFERS
- Terminal transfers. You can get a receipt at the time you make any transfer to or from your account using a staffed point of sale terminal. You will not get a receipt from a reader attached to a vending machine or copy machine. However, these machines will display the transaction amount and your resulting account balance on the LED read out attached to the machine.
- Pre authorized credits. There are no pre authorized credits to the Aggie Bucks system.

immediately if you believe your statement or receipt is inaccurate or if you need additional information about the transfer listed on the statement or receipt. We must hear from you no later than sixty (60) days after we made available to you the statement on which the transaction first appeared.
Please be prepared to provide the following information when contacting us:
- Your name and UIN number.
- A detailed description of the error and, if possible, the reason you believe an error has occurred.
- The dollar amount of the suspected error.
- Your telephone number and/or other contact information so that we can contact you during normal business hours.
If you provide this information orally, we may require that you send us a written description of your problem within ten (10) business days after your initial notification. We attempt to provide you with the results of our investigation within ten (10) business days of our recept of all necessary information. We will also attempt to correct any error as promptly as possible. Depending upon the situation it is possible that we may take up to forty five (45) calendar days to complete our investigation. In these cases, we will provisionally re-credit your account on the tenth business day for the amount you believe is in error. You will have the use of the money as we complete our investigation. If we ask you to provide written confirmation of an oral notification of an error and we do not receive it within ten (10) business days, we may not provisionally re credit your account.
If our investigation establishes that there was no error, we will send you a written explanation within three (3) business days of the complete our investigation and we will debit the amount which we provisionally credited. You may ask for copies of the documents that we used in our investigation.
XI. CHANGE IN TERMS: ERROR RESOLUTION NOTICE
The University shall provide written notice at least twenty one (21) days before the effective date of any change in a term or condition if the change would result in increased fees or charges, increased liability for the cardholder, fewer types of available electronic fund transfers or stricter limitations on the frequency or dollar amounts of transfers. Prior notice need not be given where an immediate change in terms or conditions is necessary to maintain or restore the security of an electronic fund transfer system or account. However, if a change is to be made permanent, The University shall provide written notice of the change to the cardholder within thirty (30) days, unless such disclosure would jeopardize the security of the system or account.
